Lickety Split Allergy-Free Lollipops

Need an easy and super-fast, last minute holiday treat or gift? Make chocolate lollipops. I made mine a little fancy with a little silver and gold luster dust, but you could use sprinkles or red hots instead.

Holiday Lollipops

1 12 oz bag gluten, dairy, soy, nut and egg-free mini chocolate chips
1 tsp canola oil
8-10 plastic lollipop molds (available at some supermarkets and all craft stores)
lollipop sticks (also available online or at craft stores)

Place the lollipop sticks in the molds and set them aside. Pour the chips and oil into a microwaveable bowl and heat on high for one minute. Stir well. If all of the chips are not yet melted, heat on high for another 30 seconds, checking frequently so the chocolate does not scorch. Stir the chocolate until it is smooth. Pour the chocolate into the molds, over the sticks. Let the chocolate set at room temperature and then move it to the refrigerator to harden for 3 hours. When the chocolate is hard, remove the pops from the molds. Using a clean paint brush, dust the lollipops with luster dust until you achieve the desired effect. Wrap each lollipop in a plastic sandwich bag or saran wrap and tie with a festive bow. Voila, an easy gift that takes no time to make.
